Ross Fletcher

Ross Fletcher is a leading US and UK sports broadcaster, having spent 16 years with the BBC television and radio - the world's most respected broadcaster - and the last four years with Seattle Sounders Football Club in Major League Soccer (MLS).
It is also safe to say that no other reporter can lay claim to interviews ranging from the fastest man on earth, Usain Bolt, to the then-UK Prime Minister Tony Blair on the invasion of Iraq. Fletcher had a passion for radio at a young age; at 14 years old, he was the runner-up in a competition for aspiring broadcasters. His star continues to rise on the international scene and fortunately for NW fans, he is a welcome presence on the local front.

International highlights
Ross has reported at six Olympic Games and has won multiple awards.  Consider this international experience reporting Olympic Games at Sochi, Russia; London; Innsbruck, Austria; Singapore; Vancouver, Canada; Beijing, China with Rio on the horizon in August, 2016.
His international experience includes being the Sports Bulletin presenter on the BBC’s flagship 24-hour international TV Channel, which is watched weekly by 76 million people and is available in more than 200 countries and 400 million homes worldwide. 
Other career highlights include: presenter on location and in studio at Wimbledon tennis, the Rugby Union's European Cup Final, Special Olympics Great Britain and the East Midlands’ soccer clubs. 


On the local front
Beginning in 2012, Fletcher became the voice of Seattle Sounders FC in Major League Soccer (MLS) announcing for both local radio and television broadcasts. He worked with former Seattle goalkeeper Kasey Keller on the broadcasts and did the play-by-play for the Seattle club in MLS, CONCACAF Champions League and the US Open Cup.
Bringing his experience as soccer commentator and reporter on the UK’s leading sports radio broadcaster BBC Radio 5Live which serves 6.5 million listeners per week, Ross increased the Sounders’s league-leading TV ratings by 33% in 2014 and 14% in 2015. Selected broadcasts were simulcast nationally on NBC Sports Network.

As an active NW community member, he has hosted scores of charity events, corporate functions, player signings and press conferences. He is descirbed as  passionate, upbeat and hugely knowledgable about his field by those who know him well.  As a speaker, he brings the same playful personality and enthusiasm that won over so many fans during the big Sounders moments
