Cami Ostman

Cami Ostman has completed a marathon (26.2 miles) on every continent. This accomplishment, along with her two decades as a psychotherapist, her work as an author and speaker, and her general passion for life qualifies her to encourage others to take charge of their lives and live their passions.

Cami asks us - Are you a woman who is finally ready to run this race of life  with more purpose, clarity, and passion than ever before? Are you ready to catch your second wind and reach your highest potential  Her adventures — and the personal revelations that accompany them — inspire individuals to take chances, find truth in their lives, and learn to listen to the voice inside them that’s been there all along.

She is the author of Second Wind: One Woman's Midlife Quest to Run Seven Marathons on Seven Continents. Her signature keynote,  Second Wind: Learning to Shine at Midlife is  the story of an unlikely athlete and an unlikely heroine: Cami Ostman, a woman edging toward midlife who decides to take on a challenge that stretches her way outside of her comfort zone. That challenge presents itself when an old friend suggests she go for a run to distract her from the recent grief. Excited by the clarity of mind and breathing space running offers her, she keeps it up — albeit slowly — and she decides to run seven marathons on seven continents; this becomes Ostman’s vision quest, the thing she turns to during the various ups and downs she experienced.

Cami is also a writing coach and teacher, and a family therapist. She holds a Bachelor’s of Education in English and Theater from Western Washington University and a Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University (both in Washington State). She is also a dog lover, a wine connoisseur, a runner, and a blogger.  Cami has appeared in O Magazine, and Fitness Magazine and periodically writes for Adventures Northwest.
